Level II

Unarmed Security Officer

$99
6-hour introductory security course mandated for anyone to work security in the State of Texas. Covers Prevention and Deterrence, Ethics, Observation, Reporting, Offense Types and Arrest, Radio Procedures, Report Writing, Conflict Resolution, Texas Penal Code, and more.
Duration: 6 Hours
Who It’s For: Individuals seeking entry-level employment in the security industry or anyone looking to obtain their Texas Level 2 Security Officer license.
Prerequisites: Must be 18+, U.S. citizen or legal resident, hold a high school diploma or GED, and pass a criminal background check via IdentoGO. Must have no felony convictions or disqualifying misdemeanors.

Level III

Armed Commissioned Officer

$295 (+Range fee)
45-hour commissioned security officer course required to work as a licensed armed security officer in Texas. Reviews Level II material while adding handcuffing techniques, holds, restraints, weapon retention, baton, pepper spray, and firearms training.
Duration: 45 Hours (5 days)
Who It’s For: Licensed Texas Level 2 Non-Commissioned Security Officers looking to advance into an armed, commissioned role.
Prerequisites: Must hold a valid Texas Level II license. Must complete the MMPI and demonstrate firearms proficiency within 90 days of application.

Level IV

Personal Protection Officer

$195
15-hour course preparing students to meet Texas PSB standards for licensed PPOs. Covers advanced close-contact defense, close protection formations, security planning, route reconnaissance, area security, and protected evacuation procedures.
Duration: 15 Hours
Who It’s For: Licensed Texas Level 3 Commissioned Security Officers pursuing executive protection and close protection careers.
Prerequisites: Must hold a valid Texas Level III Commissioned Security Officer license. Must pass a background check via IdentoGO and meet all Texas DPS PPO eligibility requirements.
Bundle: Level III + Level IV combo available at $325 — save $24. Ask about availability when registering.

Continuing Education Requirements
A license or Commission may not be renewed until required CE credits have been earned. Commissioned Security Officers and Personal Protection Officers shall complete six (6) hours of CE. Commissioned Security Officers & PPOs shall submit a firearms proficiency certificate [through TOPS] along with the renewal application. It is officers responsibility to turn in required certificate(s) to your company Manager, and application(s) through TOPS
License Renewal
6 hr License Texas DPS Approved Renewal Course. An additional $25 FBI Background Check is required for all renewals. A person whose license has been expired for one year or more MAY NOT renew the license. License Renewal Cost: $129.00 (+Range Fee)
